This photo sums me up pretty well. I am a colorful person with a fun personality. We travel as much as possible (this is in a hotel room) and I don't often sit still.
Since November 2017, I have been full time freelance, and it has been wonderful. I have more time to spend with my family and focus on my clients both old and new. Most of my clients fall into the following categories: Architects, Interior Designers, Builders, Restaurants, Bars, Artists, Textiles, and Publishers.
I have been a son since 1981, a husband since 2010, a father since 2016, and a photographer since I took my first photography class in 9th grade. I stuck with it, I grew with it through college, and I was employed straight out of college at The Kansas City Star as a commercial photographer. I worked there for 13 years. It was a great experience.
My second passion is woodworking and home remodeling. While working at the KC Star I was the primary photographer for SPACES magazine, Kansas City's premier home design and lifestyle magazine for more than 10 years as well as the primary photographer for Kansas City Star Quilt Books.
I never expected to develop such a fondness of photographing quilts and other crafts, but the ability to have creative freedom and to work with amazing editors, authors, designers and other staff made the experience one I will always treasure. I am always looking for more ways to incorporate myself and my photography into the textile community. If you are looking for a photographer for your book, magazine, home or any other reason please contact me and we can discuss your project.
