This photo sums me up pretty well. I am a colorful person with a fun personality. We travel as much as possible (this is in a hotel room) and I am always moving and producing.
I have been a son since 1981, a husband since 2010, a father since 2016, and a photographer since I took my first photography class in 9th grade. I stuck with it and earned a college degree in commercial photography from UCM. I was hired straight out of college by The Kansas City Star as a commercial photographer. I remained there from January 2005 to November 2017. It was a great experience. Through working at the KC Star I was the primary photographer for SPACES magazine, Kansas City's premier home design and lifestyle magazine, for 13 years as well as the primary photographer for Kansas City Star Quilt Books. Another passion of mine is woodworking and home remodeling. Throughout my life I have been exposed to the art of architecture and it has been an integral part in my photography and my life. My journey continues now as a freelance photographer with the best clients ever... you.
I never expected to develop such a fondness of photographing quilts and other crafts, but the ability to have creative freedom and to work with amazing editors, authors, designers and other staff makes the experience one I treasure. I am always looking for more ways to incorporate myself and my photography into the textile community. If you are looking for a photographer for your book, magazine, home, restaurant or any other reason please contact me and we can discuss your project.
