About me
You can't do everything.
Countless people have long told me that you can't simply photograph everything. You must choose a specialty—a simple enough idea, and with good reason. Unfortunately, maybe it's stubbornness or undiagnosed ADHD, but since I discovered photography, I have never specialized in a single subject. While in college, I fell in love with commercial photography and the ability to make a subject shine and create a reality when necessary. Spending hours in the studio, or sometimes a make-shift studio, I could just get lost in all of the details. The ability to control the light completely. The perfect angles of a subject. During my time at The Kansas City Star as an Advertising Photographer, the variety of work continued to grow. Here, I photographed the nicest homes in KC, the most expensive jewelry, design celebrities, many mayors, and my introduction into the quilting world. Yes, quilting. Who would've thought? I found an artful freedom in the quilting world while working with the incredible artists who designed and created unique fabrics and patterns. So, I do identify as a Commercial Photographer. As such, I have the joy of working in a world with few boundaries. Whether it's beautiful architecture and design, incredible details in the finest metals, the world of textiles, or simply great business portraiture, I think my work speaks for itself, and I don't think you have to compromise or specialize to have a place. I help my clients enhance their brand and image in the best way I know how, through great photography.
